Section 37 of The Children Act CAP 141: Office of the Secretary of Children Services
(1) There is established the Office of the Secretary of Children Services whichshall be an office in the public service.
(2) The Secretary shall be recruited through a competitive process andappointed by the Public Service Commission.
(3) A person may be appointed as the Secretary of Children Services if theperson—
(a) is a citizen of Kenya;
(b) holds a relevant bachelors and masters’ degree in social sciences from a university recognized in Kenya;
(c) has at least ten years’ experience in social work, education, administration and management, public administration, human resource or finance management; and
(d) meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
