Section 96 of The Companies Act No. 17 of 2015: Rights of persons to inspect register of members and require copies

    

(1) A public company shall keep its register of members and its index of
members (if any) open for inspection by—
(a) a member of the company without charge; and
(b) any other person on payment of the fee (if any) prescribed by the
regulations for the purposes of this section.
(2) On being requested to do so by a person and on receipt of the prescribed
fee (if any), a public company shall issue to the person a copy of the company's
register of members or such part of it as the person specifies.
(3) If required to do so by the company, a person seeking to inspect the
company's register of members, or a copy of the register or of any part of it, shall
provide the company with the following information—
(a) in the case of a natural person, the person's name and address;
(b) in the case of an organisation the name and address of the person
responsible for making the application on behalf of the organisation;
(c) the purpose for which the information is to be used; and
(d) whether the information will be disclosed to any other person, and if
so—
(i) if the person is a natural person, the person's name and
address;
(ii) if the person is an organisation, the name and address of the
person responsible for receiving the information on its behalf;
and
(iii) the purpose for which the information is to be used by that
person.
